There is a big controversy between drug store makeup, and name brand makeup. Drugstores brands, all, have recently been making changes to their products, but keeping the same price. Some brands, such as E.L.F, Pixie, Maybelline, Revlon, and Covergirl, have been adding products such as new foundations, highlighters, bronzers, eyeshadows, and mascaras to their collection. Leaving themselves making more money and leaving the costumers in the budget they had.
Many and most makeup stores in the mall are high-end stores. With products by Tarte, Kat Von D, Anastasia, Kylie Jenner, Urban Decay and IT Cosmetics, the stores prices usually remain very high. But, the prices do not turn away the costumers.
“You get what you pay for. In my opinion it is better to just spend the extra money because it is gonna leave you looking a thousand times better than the drug store brand would. High-end brands also last longer anyway,” says Bella Gimpietrio.
In our society, makeup is instant self-confidence when applied to the face. One report says that a female spends an average of $15,000 in their lifetime on makeup products. Make-up is frequently used on an average day.
“With the amount of money and time I spend on my makeup, their is no doubt that I’m not going to go out of the house looking amazing. I will own it and know it,” says Haley Rodgers.
In a twitter poll, presented on April 28th, 2017, 56% of people voted they would choose high end/name brand makeup and 44% voted they would choose to use drug store make up brands.
Throughout the millions of makeup brands in the world, there is some that stand out more than the others. The females can choose any brand or shade they want. Although the ranges of prices are different by a landslide, you may still be able to find products that are almost the same as the high end products.
No matter what brand you choose, you should choose it to express yourself. Be your own kind of beautiful.
